Copenhagen arrival

Whew, it’s nice to get off the plane after 10+ hours of sitting.  Our bags didn’t take long to come out of the baggage claim.  It was pretty easy to navigate towards the “train” signs and find a ticket booth for the metro.  Everyone here speaks English well so there’s no language barrier to worry about.  I showed the nice lady at the automated ticket booths my iPhone with the name of my destitination metro station and she punched in what I needed to get there.  It only cost 72 DKK for the two of us.

We then just followed the signs to “Metro” to go upstairs and across the covered bridge to the other side of the street where we boarded the automated metro (M2 line) towards the center of Copenhagen.  The tram was really really hot and stuffy inside and it got us really worried about the weather.  The tram leaving the airport wasn’t crowded but more and more people got on as we went to each station.  By the time we got to or destination (Kongens Nytorv), it was shoulder to shoulder.

The walk to our hotel was annoying with all of the cobblestone sidewalks, but it wasn’t too bad.  Turning the last corner to see Nyhaven as we walked down the last stretch to our hotel was really cool.  We’re going to chill for a little bit and unwind before we head out to explore the city!
