Lunch aboard the ship
Lunch aboard the ship after our tour this morning. To see what we ate for lunch, check out our previous lunch post. It’s pretty much the same but there are some more detailed pictures.
The Cold Meats stations has its assortment of smoked, grilled, picked, whatever you can do to a meat, and cut up. Duck, salmon, beef. My personal favorite is the mustard herring, which is a little sweet, and with a mustardy flavor.
Next is the fruits, cheeses, and dessert station. Fresh cut melon and grapes, chocolate cake (not too sweet!), and variety of soft and hard cheeses.
The hot dishes station always has something different for lunch, baked fish, and a vegetarian dish.
The salad station was very sad. There weren’t much by way of greens. Though there’s a variety of different types of salads, pasta, tomato, cauliflower, beetroot, lentil, our favorite turned out to be the cauliflower. The greens themselves weren’t very fresh. Its not unexpected, given that its hard to preserve them for long on the boat. We wished there was more variety in the greens. The soup was good, not too salty.
