UBER is the new norm
There was a time when getting to LAX involved a little more planning and coordination. We are fortunate enough to live close to LA Metro’s Gold Line. In the past, allowed us to get to LAX via a the Gold Line to Union Station to the Flyaway. The rigmarole that goes with making sure there’s enough margin to take the train (every 15 minutes), buy the Flyaway ticket, get the right Flyaway (every 30 minutes), arrive on time to check bags, and then rush to the gate.
This was a fairly skilled task that I always took a lot of pride in being able to plan, now, we worry less. UBER has really become the new norm for our airport transfers.
We have had our fair share of unique UBER experiences, some drivers super slow, some super fast. Today was unique as well, as it was the first time our UBER driver had to stop to use the bathroom. Once when we took a taxi in New Orleans, our cab driver had to stop to go the bathroom as well. When nature calls, you answer. Regardless, the days of getting to the airport by public transportation or parking our car is over. Especially with UBER’s new LAX pickup abilities, the age of UBER has finally arrived for us crazy peas.
