Let the rituals begin again
It’s time for us to take a vacation from the hot weather of California.
Anyone who says maintaining and keeping a blog up to date is easy has obviously never tried it. I’ve gained a lot of respect for those who can keep writing posts every day. I still haven’t sorted through all of our pictures from the Southeast Asia trip earlier this year, and at this rate I’ll probably not get to it. Oh well, it’s time to move on to a new trip!
Denmark
Norway
This time, we’re headed to another new place, Scandinavia! Though our final destination will be in Norway, we’ll be in Copenhagen, Denmark for a day to take in the sights.
It’s pretty fun to travel for me and Beta Pea, I know there are people out there who don’t like to travel or find it annoying to lug your stuff from one place to another. Fortunately for us, we really enjoy doing it, so traveling is always something we look forward to.
In past posts I talked about rituals we kind of have before going on a trip, food was a key part of those rituals, but today, we had neither In-N-Out nor McDonalds. We had a plan to stop at McDonalds, but there just wasn’t any time. Too much to do, and it always seems like it’s more work to go on vacation than to just stay home.
One ritual that we didn’t discuss last time was all the preparation it takes to get ready for our trips. The laundry, the house cleaning, the planning of plant watering, the cleaning out of the fridge ahead of time so we don’t come home to mushrooms we didn’t buy… etc. It feels really good to have everything ready to go but getting to that point always seems to take forever. And have you noticed how there’s ALWAYS something that you forget, maybe a small item, maybe a large item. No matter how many times I recycle my travel list and check it, things seem to slip through the cracks.
Oh well…. The only important thing is that we have our travel documents, my iPhone that is my communication hub and camera, and each other, and we can tackle any destination.
