Airline food is the BEST (NOT)

Way back when, almost anyone could experience the joys of airline food. Domestic flights cross country often served some variety of hot meal or sandwich. Now-a-days the only way that one can enjoy such luxuries is to either pay some fee or take an international flight.

On our flight from Los Angles to Taipei we were lucky enough to be fed TWO hot meals. Needless to say there's much to be desired. A long long time ago, I once flew business class across the Pacific. It's definely true that the food is better when you upgrade out of economy class, but it will be a long while before I get to experience good food up in the air again.

In the meantime, let me show you what awesome food I got aboard the plane on this trip:

So far pretty blah, the usual stuff, bread, butter fruit. The little side dish of mushrooms and veggies in a stir-fry-like concoction looks pretty interesting, but what's in the foil!?!?
Wow, not bad not bad… It's congee with pork. Definitely different than what you may find on other flights. This is one of the benefits of flying across the Pacific, especially on an Asian airline like EVA.
At least the one item that remains very similar across all classes of air travel is the water. It feels like there's never enough of it no matter what class you're travelling. I have been on flights where they have been generous enough to give me a whole bottle of water if I asked nicely. Always remember to drink plenty of water on a plane because your body will dehydrate faster in the airline cabin (google it if you don't trust me).

Our flight is now delayed in landing at Taipei by almost an hour! BetaPea is NOT happy that this going to cut into her night market eating. Time to get ready to get off the plane on our long layover in Taipei where we will try to hunt down some good food!
